The Match Card
Men’s Elimination Chamber Match
Participants: Randy Orton vs. LA Knight vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Je'Von Evans vs. Trick Williams vs. Logan Paul (replacing Jey Uso)
The Stakes: The winner challenges Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.
The Buzz: After a mystery attacker took out Jey Uso on SmackDown, Logan Paul slithered into the final spot. All eyes are on Cody Rhodes as he looks to "finish the story" (again) by getting back to the title picture, but the youth movement of Evans and Williams adds a high-flying wild card element to the steel structure.
Prediction: Williams and Evans aren’t at a high enough level to challenge for a title match at WrestleMania. Orton is a legend, but doesn’t/shouldn’t be in that spot anymore and I can’t see Paul in that spot. This comes down to Rhodes and Knight which makes it seem obvious that Rhodes would win but he’s been in this spot how many years in a row now? Let’s go with Knight to change it up. Winner: LA Knight
Women’s Elimination Chamber Match
Participants: Tiffany Stratton vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka vs. Kiana James vs. Raquel Rodriguez
The Stakes: The winner challenges Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.
The Buzz: This match is a collision of eras. Tiffany Stratton is looking to reclaim her spot at the top, while "Mami" Rhea Ripley is favored to set up a true "clash of the titans" against Jade Cargill in Vegas.
Prediction: Asuka and Cargill are both heels so that matchup won’t make sense here. Bliss doesn’t feel like she fits here either. Ripley vs. Cargill could be a great collision at WrestleMania and I think that matchup would draw better than Cargill vs. Stratton. Winner: Rhea Ripley
World Heavyweight Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. Finn Bálor
The Buzz: It’s a hero's homecoming. CM Punk defends the gold in his backyard against a rejuvenated Finn Bálor. While the Chicago crowd will be firmly behind the "Best in the World," rumors of tension within The Judgment Day and a looming Roman Reigns suggest this match will be anything but straightforward.
Prediction: There’s no way they change directions here from Punk vs. Reigns. This is in Punk’s hometown and they’ve done enough to position Balor as a major player going into this match. This will be a good win for Punk to keep building to WrestleMania. Winner: CM Punk
Women’s Intercontinental Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs. AJ Lee
The Buzz: In what many consider a "dream match," AJ Lee competes in her first singles match in over a decade. The United Center will likely explode for Lee, but "The Man" Becky Lynch has proven she is willing to do whatever it takes to remain the benchmark of the division.
Prediction: Lee hasn’t wrestled too often over the past decade. She’s beaten Lynch in WarGames and in a mixed tag with their husbands so it makes sense for Lynch to get a win back here. Plus this can help build the title to a possible rematch at WrestleMania. Winner: Becky Lynch
Key Questions for Tonight:
What is in the Mystery Box? WWE has been teasing a "mystery box" reveal for weeks. Is it a returning legend or a new signing?
The "Vision" Attacker: Who is the masked figure that has been terrorizing the roster and took Jey Uso out of the Chamber?
