MLB Season Preview - Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers head into 2026 chasing dynasty status. They have a chance to do something no team has done since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees: win three consecutive world series.  This past off-season they continued to load up the roster with all star talent by bringing in outfielder Kyle Tucker (4years $240 million) and closer Edwin Diaz (3 years $69 million).  This roster feels less like a baseball team and more like an All-Star team.

Lineup:

The addition of Kyle Tucker adds to a murderers’ row lineup that should give apposing pictures nightmares. He joins a core that already includes three former MVPs.  Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Tucker represent the best one through four in Major League Baseball.  Betts and tea Oscar Hernandez should bounce back after what was considered sub-par 2025 offensive campaigns.  Andy Pages steps in now as the every-day centerfielder and Hyeseong Kim adds speed and contact to a power hitting lineup.

Rotation:

For the first time since his second Tommy John Surgery, Shohei Ohtani is expected to be a full go in the starting rotation. To manage his workload the Dodgers are expected to utilize a six-man rotation. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is expected to work as the ace and is coming off winning the World Series MVP. Tyler Glasnow is a high ceiling starter who is looking to bounce back from a shoulder injury which limited him to 18 starts last season.  Blake Snell remains a veteran southpaw who can provide a different type of look for opposing offenses.

Bullpen:

If the Dodgers had a weakness last season it was the bullpen which was inconsistent at times. They signed Edwin Diaz to act in the closing role this season tanner Scott is expected to be the set-up man after a shaky 2025. Blake Treinmen returns for his age 37 season and still possesses a nasty sinker-sweeper combination.
